Palo Santo Sticks
Palo Santo, which directly translates to "holy wood", is a tree native to Mexico and South America. It belongs to the same family as both Frankincense and Myrrh.
The process of collecting Palo Santo is a special one. You must respect the life and death of the tree to enjoy the benefits. Once the tree finishes its life cycle, the wood starts to transform and sweeten. The palo santo oil spreads through the wood and acquires the beneficial components that were previously hidden. It is at this point that Palo Santo is considered sacred.
Palo Santo holds many healing powers and has been used for centuries by shamans in sacred ceremonies. It is also widely used in same manner as a smudge stick to cleanse and purify the surroundings and self.
All Palo Santo sticks available are sustainably-sourced from Peru from trees that have laid dead for at least 4 years.
